Immigration Ban: God is Love and I Choose Love

I’m sure many of you have seen the videos circulating of American citizens not being allowed back into the country, right? The other day I got into a debate on Facebook (not like me at all but I felt like I had to defend my point) about the ban on immigrants not letting US citizens come back into their home country because of the religion they practice. We had completely opposing views. I quoted a bible verse on Facebook. Leviticus 19:33-34:

When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.” - Leviticus 19:33-34

5 Things 2016 Has Taught Me

Christmas time can be so stressful at times and if you're like me, you want each gift to be perfect and each person to feel special. *Happy dance* I'm done with all of the gift purchasing so now I can retrospectively look back on 2016. 5 things 2016 has taught me.....

Quick Note: Passion

No fancy header for this post, just me simply writing a quick note to each of you. I had a re-revelation - that’s totally not a word but just go with it. Many of you know that I’m passionate about blogging but sometimes (sadly..) it gets put on the back burner because of “more” pressing responsibilities.

As I was sitting at work, I took a minute to brainstorm what my next blog post would be. My initial thought was to talk about an observation I’ve made about our generation. Then decided against it… But for some reason - a thought crossed my mind repeatedly. I want to serve as a light in peoples’ lives to inspire and motivate people to reach their dreams and full potential. (And I feel like my blog is a platform for that.)

Rebranding Yourself: How to Be Seen Differently Without Changing Yourself

I'm back! I was sitting at work one day and was thinking about who I am, what I stand for, what my passions are, etc. (all of which I know the answers to - finally haha) I even sat down and jotted some adjectives and some things I'm passionate about in my journal. Some of my passions were family, life, inspiring others, blogging, etc. Sometimes we get caught up in the motions and living day by day and this was my way of remembering why I'm doing the things I'm doing.

30 DAY HIATUS - Is Omran Safe? ONE case of 10.8 million Syrian refugees....

I’m writing to shed light and awareness about the brutal world Syrian people and especially the children are living in. I’m sure most of you have seen a video circulating of Omran – the tagline “This is Omran. He’s alive. We wanted you to know.” The video shows Omran, his brother and parents being pulled from the debris of their destroyed family home in Aleppo.

Omran, blood running down his cheeks and caked with dust all over his 5-year-old body, was in utter shock. Omran’s brother passed away a few days later from injuries he sustained from the air missile strike. This is ONE case of 10.8 million Syrian refugees - of those refugees about 51% of the refugees are CHILDREN.

UFC 201: My Fight Night Experience

I grew up with a Dad who used to be a boxer in the army. AKA we grew up watching boxing, UFC, MMA and all of that good stuff. Since I was in college, I would try to find tickets to a UFC fight to surprise my Dad but they were always in Las Vegas - until this year. It was in Atlanta..an hour and a half from where I live. PERFECT.

Renewing Your Passion While Abroad

Going abroad may seem nerve-wracking, exciting, and just a mix of emotions. This was my first time out of the States (excluding Puerto Rico). Since I was 12, Spain was my number one bucket list item. Two weeks wasn't enough but I can say that it was worthwhile. I came in with no expectations other than adventure..and that's what I got.

Life | Meeting Jose and Maria

If I could describe to you how much I love experiencing different cultures meant to me I think I would fall short. Since I was a young girl, I loved observing people who were different from me and I would find myself talking to them and wanting to learn more and more. That is why when we found out that we would be eating at a family's home in a small town in Spain I was probably the most excited I'd been the entire trip (which is a lot)!

Field Trip: Flamenco Show

Though this was not a "business visit" it was most definitely one of my favorite things I experienced while in Spain. Flamenco is actually not a style of dance; it is a style of music that is danced to. We went to a place called El Patio Sevillano and watched a 2-hour show with a few glasses of sangria so you can imagine the perfection of the night.

United We Need to Stand: Wars, Massacres,Terrorism...

Let me start off by saying that I don't make posts like these often but when I do it is because I feel a heavy burden telling me to do so.

Field Trip: Tour in Madrid

Wow! My first day in Spain was definitely crazy busy, packed, and exhausting..and all worth it! We hopped off of the plane at 8am in Spain after a 10-hour flight and went to the hotel. To our new found knowledge, we couldn't check in until around 3 so that meant time for adventuring (my favorite thing to do).

5 Reasons Why Going to a Smaller University Can Be Better

As graduation approaches (May 14!!) and my college journey comes to an end, I can say that I have truly loved my college experience. I went to a college in my hometown where I was born and raised. Trust me, I had all of the expectations to move out and start a life somewhere new. Nonetheless, I decided not to because of my acceptance into the Servant Leadership program (I'll explain what that is later).

9 Things I Learned in 2015

What a great time to post a few things I've learned/remembered throughout probably the craziest and most fun year of my life. I got to travel to New York, Philly, Ft. Lauderdale, New Orleans, and a few other places. I experienced so many new things. I was super involved and super busy. I went on adventures. I met a guy. I could really keep going with this list...but let me stop.

Following your Passion

As I sit here at the keyboard and with a blank page, I think. I ask myself, what do I want to accomplish? What do I want to be when I grow up? How do I want people to remember me?
